Goomba’s Hoagie Hole.
OUR STORY
Every great sandwich has a story—and this one starts with Peter “from Jersey” Sbareglio, a man obsessed with hoagies and the art of CALABRIATION—bringing people, culture, food, and drink together.
Inspired by the wild love story of his Goomba consigliere and a Mexican Latin princess who ran off to Uptown Dallas to chase their dreams at Burrito Bella’s, Peter set out on his own culinary journey. From New Jersey and New York to Wisconsin, New Orleans, and Calabria, Italy, he gathered flavors, stories, and inspiration from every stop.
Along the way, Peter “calabriated” with more than a few Bellas, each encounter adding something special to what would become a one-of-a-kind menu. One unforgettable moment came in New Orleans, where a Voodoo woman introduced him to the magic of the Muffaletta—bringing bold, soulful flavor into the mix.
With his vision complete, Peter called on his trusted friend, The Man from Calabria, and together they created Goomba’s Hoagie Hole—a hidden sandwich spot tucked behind Burrito Bella’s in Uptown Dallas.
Here, you’ll find a fresh take on the Italian-Jersey grinder, with influences from across the country and beyond. Walk up to the orange To-Go window, order a hoagie (maybe a burrito too), and take your first bite.
Just like that—you’re not just eating…
You’re Calabriating.
